Transparency Spending

The College of Charleston is committed to transparency and accountability regarding the funds it uses.  Students, taxpayers, sponsors, donors and alumni provide critical funding necessary to meet the College’s mission-related responsibilities of teaching, research and public service.

The spending transparency website provides the information on all expenses paid through the College’s vendor system or with state-approved procurement credit cards.  Wages and related withholding payments, student refunds, and other ACH transactions are not included.

All state general fund appropriations derived from state taxes and state revenue collections are used to fund a portion of salaries and fringe benefits and are therefore not a source of funding for the spending transparency website.  Information about salaries can be found at the State Fiscal Accountability Authority consistent with the S.C. Freedom of Information Act.
